Maria Stenfors is proud to present Mauro Bonacina’s exhibition ‘LONDON.ENGLAND.12.05.2011.18:00’ The exhibition will encompass installation, objects, painting, photography, sound and sculpture. Bonacina will make use of space and volume both inside and outside the physical gallery space.
Mauro Bonacina conceptually contemplates the intention as well as the intervention that takes place when an artist decides to make a work of art, thus questioning the parameters within the decision making process as well as the edge between control and coincidence.
Navigating between art historical references, the existing art context and the aesthetics of the every day Bonacina’s practice emphasizes the importance of the manifestation of meaning through the use of iconic elements such as images, actions and customs which are rooted and constantly reproduced in the collective today.
Mauro Bonacina is born 1977 in Italy. He lives and works in London. Educated UWIC, Cardiff and Goldsmiths College of Art, London. Recent exhibitions include Charles Bank Gallery New York, 401 Contemporary London, Josh Lilley Gallery London, Lucie Fontaine, Milan and No Soul for Sale, Tate Modern London.
